Port Newark Container Terminal said its average vessel stevedoring production was 28.93 as measured by adjusted gross moves per hour/per crane, a new record for the terminal for October.

The record performance "was a cumulative team effort including a strong contribution from our International Longshoremen's Association associates. Everyone contributed to this success,” said Charles Darrell, vice president of operations.

Don Hamm, president of PNCT, said, “Our truck turnaround times have improved to an all-time low of 37.88 minutes per transaction. The results for the month of October validated the fact that truck and vessel turnaround times as well as other operations are attainable.”

The hub also recently opened an on-site, Agricultural Quarantine Inspection (AQI) facility that processes 70 units on average per month.
